Job Summary: BRAC is hiring an Area Manager to oversee and implement field activities for the “Rain for Life” project, focusing on climate change adaptation in vulnerable communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance, supervision, and monitoring to field-level staff.
  • Regularly visit the field for smooth implementation.
  • Guide field staff and provide on-the-job training.
  • Mobilize communities.
  • Conduct training for community stakeholders.
  • Supervise the implementation of field activities.
  • Ensure regular documentation of program activities.
  • Regularly update activity status for the MIS database.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly field action plans.
  • Track financial records of field activities.
  • Coordinate with other field staff within the Climate Change Programme.
  • Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in any subject; Agriculture, Social Science, Environmental Science, or Development Studies preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the development sector, preferably in climate change adaptation or agriculture.
  • Knowledge of agriculture, disaster management, environment, and climate change is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Bangla (essential) and satisfactory English skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, internet browsing, and email.
  • Ability to work independently at the field level with minimal guidance.
  • Strong ethical principles, including integrity, honesty, and inclusiveness.
  • Competent in IT (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet).
  • Knowledge of climate change adaptation, resilience, social, gender, and environmental compliance.
  • Proactive, motivated, and able to use initiative.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work in a team and develop networks.
  • Willingness to work with vulnerable communities.
